You'll need to tilt the Wii remote to steer into the ramp, collecting the coins you pass. Ramps populate the course, and coins are on every ramp. Water Ski Spree (Bonus Mini-game)Įach player is tethered to a speedboat that races along a lake on a course. The first player to safely get to the other side of the canyon wins the mini-game. When the winds start blowing, lean into them to resist being blown off and into the abyss. We're not entirely sure that walking on a tightrope over the Grand Canyon is the best idea, but what mini-game in Mario Party is?Įach player creeps along on their tightrope, trying to keep balance. This game is more for the team to lose, rather than the one to win: if the team manages to dodge obstacles and not bump into each other, at least one of them should be able to finish the course and take the win. This one is heavily in favor of the team, because aside from activating traps, the one really can't do anything. But rather than just shoot the team directly, the one activates traps that sends obstacles into the skateboarders. And naturally, the one has to come along and ruin it by shooting at the team. The team just wants to enjoy a little skateboarding in a drainpipe. That didn't sound good at all, did it? Thrash 'n' Crash Where the quick pitches come in are random, so you'll need to watch Shy Guy's ball carefully. This is probably due to the fact that Shy Guy's pitches may come quick, so you can't ever get into a regular "rhythm" as you could with a conventional game of baseball. Instead, you hold it vertically and flick your wrist in a small circle. Unlike Wii Sports Baseball, you don't swing the Wii remote like baseball bat. Shy Guy will toss you 20 balls, and you swing away. The idea of this game is a 20-pitch home run derby. The guys and gals of the Mushroom Kingdom apparently didn't get enough of America's pastime with Mario Baseball on the GameCube. If the team can hold out for 30 seconds, they'll take the win. Each team member can take two shots, after which they fall and are eliminated. All players move up, down, left, and right to either shoot (if you're the one) or dodge the shots (if you're the team). What nerve!ĭespite the flighty appearance, this game is really two dimensional. The team is out for a nice flight over the Mushroom Ocean (or whatever), and then the one comes along to shoot them out of the sky.
